Snobber BV is de investeringsmaatschapij van ons: Gijs Barends en Marc Noët (beide 34).

In 1999 richtten wij, als studenten aan het Instituut voor Media en Informatie Management, het online advertising bureau Medialand.nl op in Amsterdam.

In 2004 nam het grootste onafhankelijke mediaconcern ter wereld AEGIS PLC, via haar dochter Aegis Media een belang in Medialand.nl
en namen wij de activiteiten en het personeel van
Carat Interactive over.


Vervolgens hebben we de twee merken Medialand.nl en Carat Interactive samen gegroepeerd onder een nieuw moedermerk Isobar Communications BV. Waar we in 2005 het zoekmachinebedrijf iProspect aan toevoegden.

Begonnen op een kamertje boven een boekhandel groeide het bedrijf Medialand.nl / Isobar Communications uit tot het tweede snelst groeiende bedrijf van Nederland achter TomTom met een jaarwinst van 3 miljoen.

Hiervoor ontvingen we in 2006 een FD gazelle award.

In Februari 2007 verkochten we onze resterende aandelen in Isobar Communications BV

Snobber BV is the joint investment firm of:
Gijs Barends and Marc Noët (both 34)

In 1999, as students at the Institute of Media and Information Management, we founded the online advertising and media agency Medialand.nl.


In 2004 AEGIS Plc, the biggest independent marketing and communications group in the world took a share in Medialand.nl via its daugther company Aegis Media. As part of this transaction we took over activities and personel of Carat Interactive.

We grouped all the brands under a new umbrella brand called Isobar Communications bv. In 2005 we also added the search marketing firm iProspect Netherlands to Isobar.


Started out in a small room above a book store. We grew the company to the second fastest growing Dutch company in terms of annual profit and revenueubehind the personal navigation company TOM TOM. With annual profits of 3 million euro.

In 2006 our growth got rewarded with a FD gazelle award, a prestigious Dutch buisness award.

February 2007 we sold all our remaining Isobar Communications shares to start Snobber BV.
